A charming and rare Portuguese Palissy teapot in the form of a monkey, with a pointed hat forming the lid, its curling tail forming the handle, holding a snake which serves as the spout. The body is decorated with an attractive speckled grey and brown glaze, the hat and base in green and brown. Impressed oval mark of Jose A Cunha to the underside of the base.
